Running In
Millcreek Canyon

More About Running

There are plenty of good running trails.

Millcreek Road is narrow and gets narrower
when there's snow. The canyon
is always busy in the warmer months.
Most motorists are aware
of runners and cyclists.

Earlier in the day is better for a road run.

The main road is relatively smooth
and climbs gradually. It has a few steeper
pitches near the top, and a number of
false flats along the way,
which are good for recovery.

The average grade is 6.7%.
The distance from the fee booth
to the top of the canyon
is 8.5 miles, one way.

You need to let someone know you are going on a run,
where, and how long you expect it will take.
